This weekend is a great weekend to get out and explore suburbia.

 

Halloween just happened and, already, holiday happenings are popping up in the DC suburbs — plus tons of fall fun, perfect for every age. Check out these fun events and activities in communities you may want to call “home.” 

 

 

Bethesda, MD

There’s a Christmas bazaar at St. Jane de Chantal from 9am-4pm on Saturday. Come out to shop the wares of 40+ vendors, a book fair, thrift shop and to explore a book fair.

 

 

Chevy Chase, MD

Learn about dinosaurs at the Chevy Chase Library from 10:30am-11:30am on Saturday. It’s ideal for children 6-12 that want to learn about fossils, dig for them and try STEM activities.

 

 

Arlington, VA

Marymount University’s Fall Festival is 1:30pm-7pm on Saturday. Help celebrate this year’s theme “For the Love of Others” through crafts, games, music, food trucks and family fun.

 

 

Alexandria, VA

Visit one of the nation’s oldest farmers’ markets, the Old Town Farmers’ Market in Alexandria, beginning at 7am on Saturday. It’s a great way to shop for local produce and experience the town’s historic past.

 

 

Takoma Park, MD

Magician Jason Goldberg is coming to Takoma Park Silver Spring Campus from 7pm-10pm on Saturday to perform magic inspired by the Earth’s oceans. It’s free.

 

 

Rockville, MD

Get a head start on your holiday shopping at the Danish Christmas Bazaar from 11am-3pm on Saturday. The following day, get tickets to see “Seussical” at Rockville Musical Theatre at 2pm. Tickets are $25.

 

 

Silver Spring, MD

The EU’s Kids Euro Festival is coming to Washington, D.C., featuring cultural shows representing each nation throughout the weekend. Watch “Early Man” at the AFI Silver Theatre from 11am-12:30pm on Saturday.

 

 

Fairfax, VA

One of the nation’s best Christmas bazaars is coming to the American Legion in Fairfax from 10am-3pm on Saturday. Come out to enjoy Icelandic cuisine and shop for authentic, handmade products. Or, visit Barnes & Nobles from 12pm-1pm on Saturday for storytime featuring author Miranda Mittleman.

 

 

Vienna, VA

Watch a kid’s concert starring Jason Didier & the Jungle Gym at 10am on Saturday at Jammin’ Java. Tickets are $6.25-$8.
