HEADING TO WESTCHESTER?

Rivertowns 

Kids of all ages will LOVE the Nyack Famous Street Fair, taking place downtown from 10am-3pm on Sunday. Enjoy a kid’s zone with inflatables, live music, incredible food and tons of family fun.

 

Chappaqua

The Chappaqua Library and Westchester Symphony Orchestra are presenting a special performance featuring music from Rossini, Bach and Beethoven Saturday from 2pm-3:30pm.

 

Rye

Create your own galaxy-themed snow globes at the Rye Library on Thursday from 6pm-7pm. The event is free, but pre-registration is required. If you’re busy this weekend but still want to spend some time in Rye ASAP, swing by Tuesdays for a free twilight concert at Rye Town Park.

 

Rye Brook

Enjoy the timeless music of The Beatles during this family-friendly concert on Saturday at The Capitol Theater in Port Chester. The doors open at 11am and tickets are $15 in advance.

 

Armonk

Remove invasive aquatic plants and teach your kids the value of stewardship Friday from 10am-1pm at Wampus Pond Park. Snacks will be provided.

 

Bedford

Bedford’s beloved Blues & BBQ festival returns Sunday from 4pm-8pm at Memorial Park. Tickets are $30 for adults, $10 for kids under 12.

 

Katonah

Enjoy a free summer concert on Thursday at 7pm at Katonah Park Field. Also, come out Saturday for the KMA Block Party, boasting drinks, gourmet food trucks and live music. Tickets are $20-$25.

 

Larchmont 

The Larchmont Farmers Market is Saturday from 8:30am-1pm on the Metro-North parking deck. 

 

Mamaroneck 

Bring budding artists to The Bott Shoppe in Mamaroneck for a kids’ drawing class Saturday from 1pm-2:30pm. This is the perfect opportunity for kids to practice their sketching and meet some locals. 

 

Scarsdale/Edgemont 

White Plains’ free summer concert series begins Thursday with Sammy Rae and The Friends from 6:30pm-8:30pm at 5 City Place.

 

Ardsley

Food Truck Friday is happening at Pascone Park, Friday starting at 5pm. Grab your blankets and lawn chairs and come out for a twilight dinner, followed by a free concert from “Almost Country.”

 

Pleasantville 

Everclear, Soul Asylum and other artists will be in Pleasantville for the town’s Music Festival on Saturday. Children under 12 are free!

 

Briarcliff Manor 

Experience the stunning beauty of Briarcliff Manor’s countryside Saturday with a guided walk through the Brinton Brook Sanctuary at 9am.

 

HEADING TO LONG ISLAND?

Roslyn

Discovering new towns should always come with an ice cream cone! If you agree (your kids do!), mark your calendar for this 9-stop ice cream parlor tour on Saturday. 

 

Port Washington

Watch a free movie overlooking the bay at Sunset Park, Saturday at 8:30pm. Sunday, spend the day having fun in the sun at North Hempstead Beach Park and hang out for a free concert at 1pm.

 

Sea Cliff 

The Morgan Park Summer Music Festival continues Sunday, with a free performance from Orchestra Long Island at 7:30pm. 

 

Manhasset

Kids 5 and up will LOVE learning about the rainforest during this special Nature Sundays event at the Planting Fields Foundation. The event is free, with an $8 parking fee.

 

HEADING TO NEW JERSEY?

Chatham 

Pick-your-own fruit and enjoy live music, mazes and other kids activities this weekend at Alstede Farms in nearby Chester. 

 

Short Hills

Crafty kids will have a great time decorating their own Kid Made Modern trading cards at Indigo in Short Hills on Saturday at 11am.

 

Westfield

Celebrate Christmas in July during the Westfield Winter Wonderland on Sunday from 10:30am-12:30pm. The festivities take place on Quimby Street and includes crafts and activities for the whole family.

 

Montclair 

The Montclair Farmer’s Market is Saturday from 8am-2pm. One of the busiest markets in the region, this event is known for its local produce picked within 24 hours and artisanal cheese and meats.

 

Glen Ridge 

Free tonight? Come enjoy a quiet evening and free showing of “Wonder Park” on the rooftop of the Turtle Back Zoo Parking deck. On Friday, check out a free concert at Brookdale Park at 7:30pm featuring the “On the Radio” Donna Summer Tribute band.

 

Demarest 

Enjoy a free concert under the stars at Memorial Field in Closter. Bring your blankets, picnic baskets and be ready to shake it to the tune of The Willies from 7:30pm-9:30pm.

 

Maplewood

The 16th annual Maplewoodstock Music + Arts Festival is Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-10pm. In addition to two days of music at Memorial Park, families will enjoy face painting, kids crafts, ice cream, inflatables and an art fair.

 

Summit 

Busy this weekend but still want to explore Summit? Visit the town Tuesday for a free evening concert on the Village Green, featuring free ice cream and food trucks. The theme is 90s and old school hip hop, so come dressed to impress!

 

HEADING TO CONNECTICUT? 

Westport 

Join the Westport Historical Society Saturday at 10am for live historical demonstrations reenacting the burning of Connecticut towns during the War for Independence.

 

Rowayton/Norwalk

Party like a Rowayton local during the 2019 River Ramble at Pinkney Park Saturday from 11am-3pm, featuring food vendors, live music, a craft fair, petting zoo, dunk tank, water slides and more. Then, on Sunday, The Dip is offering a free concert at Bayley Beach starting at 5:30pm. Don’t forget your blankets and snacks! 

 

Greenwich 

More than 100 Greenwich retailers are participating in a town-wide sidewalk sale Thursday through Sunday. After shopping ’til you drop, unwind during the American Polo Cup. Tickets are required.

 

New Canaan

Spend the evening hunting for worms, amphibians and other wildlife by the light of 1,000+ fireflies Saturday at the New Canaan Nature Center. The event is 8pm-9:30 pm.

 

Stamford

The Harbor Point Farmers Market is Sunday from 9am-2pm at Harbor Point Square. Bring your reusable shopping totes and the kids for a day of family fun and live music.
