The Ultimate Farmers Market Crawl Across the Philly Burbs

Aug 22, 2025

From Collingswood to Kennett Square, here’s your hyper-local guide to fresh finds and serious small-town charm

We love a Whole Foods run as much as the next person, but there’s something about hitting the local farmers market that just feels right, especially when you’re scoping out your next hometown. Between the produce and pastries, it’s a front-row seat to the local community. Who shops here? How do people spend their Saturday mornings? Is there live music? Are there mini donuts?

Because while school districts and commute times matter, so does vibe. And there’s no better place to catch that vibe than a weekend market.

We hit the pavement and pulled together a hyper-local guide to the best farmers markets in the Philly suburbs, organized by region so you can plan your own market crawl. Tote bags at the ready!

MAIN LINE

Bryn Mawr Farmers Market

7 N. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr

April–Dec: Saturdays 9am–1pm | Jan–March: 1st/3rd/5th Saturdays 10am–12pm

A local institution with an A+ rotation of vendors—think croissants, pickles, honey, flowers, and dog treats. This is where Main Line parents, retirees, and stroller squads all converge on Saturday mornings. Bonus: it’s right by the train if you’re venturing from the city.

Ardmore Farmers Market at Suburban Square

Suburban Square, Ardmore

Mon–Sat 8am–6pm, Sun 9am–4pm

Less “tent and table,” more “indoor foodie paradise,” Ardmore’s year-round market is part of Suburban Square, so you can grab your fresh mozzarella and microgreens, then wander into Madewell. It’s packed with specialty purveyors, prepared foods, and ready-to-go meals.

Malvern Farmers Market

Burke Park, Malvern

Select Saturdays (check seasonal schedule), 9am–1pm

Hosted by the team at Growing Roots, this market skews very community-forward with composting, event days, and lots of farm-fresh produce. It’s small but mighty, and you’ll leave with some great local finds.

DELAWARE COUNTY

Media Farmers Market

Edgmont St. between Media Elementary and Barrall Field

Sundays, 10am–1pm (May–Nov)

Set in the heart of “Everybody’s Hometown,” Media’s market has a little bit of everything: music, makers, and market bags full of local goods. We love the easy Sunday morning vibe and the fact that you can walk to plenty of popular brunch spots right after.

Swarthmore Farmers Market

121 Park Ave, Swarthmore Borough Lot

Saturdays, 9am–12pm (May–Nov)

College town energy meets small-town sweetness. You’ll find about 20+ vendors here, plus regular live music, kids’ crafts, and the occasional Swarthmore student using their campus card for granola bars.

Oakmont Farmers Market (Havertown)

Grace Chapel Parking Lot, 1 W. Eagle Rd

Wednesdays, 2:30pm–5:30pm (May–Nov)

Perfect for a midweek restock. Locals hit this one for post-school snacks, just-picked produce, and the fresh pasta that’s always sold out by 5pm. Expect smaller crowds and lots of repeat regulars, which is always a good sign.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Ambler Farmers Market

29 W Butler Ave, Ambler

Saturdays, 9am–12pm (May–October)

This one’s located right by the SEPTA line and draws an easy-going crowd of locals and visitors. Think farm stands, handmade goods, and fresh coffee in hand while your kid pets a goat. Ambler’s downtown is buzzing before noon on Saturdays.

Glenside Farmers Market

276 Keswick Ave, Glenside

Saturdays, 9am–1pm (May–October)

Tucked behind Keswick Theater, this cozy market has a neighborly feel and lots of weekly regulars. Locals love the laid-back pace and hyper-local goods. Plus, it’s a great way to kick off your weekend in a super walkable downtown.

CHESTER COUNTY

West Chester Amish Market

Westtown Village Shopping Center

Thurs & Fri: open all day | Sat: 8am–4pm

This indoor-outdoor destination is part shopping experience, part field trip, and part snack attack. You’ll find fresh meats, baked goods, soft pretzels, handmade furniture, and the vibes of Reading Terminal—without going into the city.

Downingtown Farmers Market

Kerr Park, 28 E. Pennsylvania Ave

Saturdays, 9am–1pm (seasonal)

Small but very well curated, Downingtown’s market is ideal for a quick grab-and-go or a more leisurely stroll before heading to the playground nearby. There’s always something seasonal, something sweet, and something you didn’t plan to buy but absolutely needed.

Phoenixville Farmers Market

Under the Gay Street Bridge

Saturdays, 9am–12pm

Phoenixville’s market is a community hub with live music, loads of vendors, and downtown steps away. Locals bring dogs, kids, reusable bags, and a serious commitment to the cause every weekend.

Kennett Square Farmers Market

600 S. Broad St., Borough Hall Lot

Fridays, 3pm–6pm (year-round)

Late-day markets can be tough to find. The good news? If afternoon shopping is more your speed, this one keeps rolling all year long. Think post-school, pre-dinner pit stop for produce, meats, and prepared eats. Kennett has been doing this since 2000, and it shows. Polished, community-driven, and a fun way to start the weekend.

BUCKS COUNTY

Newtown Farmers Market

2150 S. Eagle Rd

Saturdays, 9am–4pm

This one’s a hybrid: part outdoor market, part food court, part family field trip. Fresh produce and meats meet Polish pierogi, Lancaster pretzels, and the now-famous monthly pig roast. It’s definitely one of the more lively markets on our rotation.

Doylestown Farmers Market

Hamilton & State Streets

Saturdays, 8am–1pm (April–Nov)

You’ll find long-time vendors, live music, seasonal produce, and your neighbors in their Saturday finest (read: hoodies and sunglasses). Stop for flowers, stay for the bakery stand.

Yardley Farmers Market

Buttonwood Park (Summer), LMT Community Center (Winter)

Saturdays, 9am–12pm

Yardley gets the gold star for being a year-round go-to. Whether it’s summer in the park or winter indoors, you’ll always find local cheese, good bread, kombucha, and a crowd that really knows their root veggies.

SOUTH JERSEY

Springdale Farm (Cherry Hill)

1638 S. Springdale Rd

Daily, 8am–6pm

This is Cherry Hill’s last working farm, which adds a unique feel to this popular market. While it’s not your typical Saturday market, it delivers on fresh produce, garden plants, baked goods, and that farmstand-meets-gift-shop vibe.

Collingswood Farmers Market

Under the PATCO Line, Collings & Irvin Aves

Saturdays, 8am–12pm (May–Thanksgiving)

The queen of Jersey markets. Collingswood’s is packed every weekend and somehow still charming. Local growers, jam makers, micro-batch granola, live music, and tons of strollers—if you want to feel what this town is about, come here first.

Haddonfield Farmers Market

Kings Court, Haddonfield

Saturdays, 8:30am–1pm (May–Nov)

A walkable downtown, coffee in hand, and a bustling farmers market—Haddonfield is a great spot to spend a weekend. This farmers market is your one-stop for Jersey tomatoes, fresh cut flowers, live tunes, and low-key neighborly hangs.
