With more and more companies shifting to remote work models for the long term, people are expanding their suburban searches beyond just top-of-mind (AKA close to the city) towns.

 

“As a whole, people are leaving the city,” Suburban Jungle Founder & President Alison Bernstein tells Reader’s Digest. “Younger families, in particular, are looking for the opposite of what they used to want. It’s no longer about commutability; it’s about quality of life. They want to live where there’s a waterfront or beach or where they can go hiking.”
