You don’t have to be in the city to experience world-class events. Check out these Dallas suburbs.

Living in the city means you have endless entertainment options. From concerts to live theater, there’s always something going on in Dallas. But the good news? Moving to the Dallas suburbs doesn’t mean you have to give that up. In fact, it’s easier than ever to experience world-class entertainment in the ‘burbs. These family-friendly hotspots are perfect examples.

#1. Grandscape (The Colony)
Grandscape is a one-of-a-kind shopping and entertainment destination. It was recently named the “Most Innovative Retail and Entertainment Project” at the 2021 Retail and Leisure International awards.

This 433-acre hub includes a huge Ferris wheel, a rooftop putt-putt course, a movie theater, a brewery, and the Electric Gamebox, a unique team-based digital adventure. The Grandscape also puts on tons of events and concerts. This is the place to go for free live music, dance parties, trivia nights, and holiday festivals.

#2. Toyota Music Factory (Irving)
Irving residents have easy access to the Toyota Music Factory, a massive venue with 20+ bars, restaurants, and multiple stages. In addition to the two indoor theaters, there’s the Texas Lottery Plaza for open-air shows. Well-known artists from around the country are invited to perform on this stage.

In addition to the multiple live music spaces, this entertainment hub is home to an Alamo Drafthouse. Dallas families might already be familiar with this unique theater that combines a cinema, cocktail bar, and restaurant.

And if you’re a Dallas Cowboys fan, head to the Music Factory on the day before each home game for a meet-and-greet with the players.

#3. Legacy West (Plano)
This massive retail district is the go-to place for shopping and dining in Plano. Windrose Avenue is lined with name-brand shops like Lululemon and Madewell. Plus, there’s a multi-level food hall with more than 20 bars and restaurants.

Legacy West also hosts tons of city-caliber events. There’s a stage for live music, a dance floor with DJ-led parties and giant TVs for Cowboys watch parties.

#4. Texas Live (Arlington)
Texas Live is a huge draw for sports fans from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. If you wind up settling in Arlington, you’ll have easy access to this popular entertainment destination.

This venue is set between the AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, and Globe Life Park. The Live Arena is an unforgettable place to cheer on your team. This enormous sports bar features a 100ft jumbotron, pre-game entertainment, and backyard games. But the fun doesn’t stop in the off-season. Texas Live also puts on huge concerts in its outdoor auditorium for up to 5,000 people.

#5. CityLine (Richardson)
Planning to commute to Dallas? You can get to the city in 45 minutes with a DART train from CityLine. But CityLine is much more than a train station. This world-class entertainment space features national restaurant chains, wellness studios, and multi-use trails for exercising.
