Make Your Way to the Bay Area Suburbs This Weekend!

There’s no better way to spend the weekend than exploring the Bay Area ‘burbs.

 

There’s so much happening in the Bay Area suburbs this weekend—and that makes it a perfect time to get out and visit towns on your must-see list. 

 

 

Palo Alto

An astronaut has landed in Palo Alto and needs help finding their lost parts. Help out by participating in a family scavenger hunt from 11am-5pm on Friday. Tickets are $8/group.

 

 

Los Altos

Experience a fun twist on a fall festival—belly dancing during BABDAMA’s annual festival. It takes place from 11am-8pm on Saturday and features dancing, live music, shopping, food and family fun.

 

 

Mountain View

Get tickets to see Peter Pan, coming to the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts at 6:30pm on Sunday. Tickets are $28.

 

 

Burlingame

Five Little Monkeys’ Monkeypalooza part is 11am-3pm on Saturday. Come out for crafts, live performances, gift bags and playtime.

 

 

Mill Valley

Watch Matilda the Musical Thursday-Sunday at 7pm at Throckmorton Theatre. Tickets are $20/adults and $15/children.

 

 

Corte Madera

Take a free kid’s cooking class featuring Thanksgiving side dishes at 10am on Saturday at Williams Sonoma. Children ages 8-13 are welcome. Register here.

 

 

Oakland

Explore Oakland during its Second Saturday event from 11am-5pm on Saturday at Jack London Square. There will be 50+ vendors, food and live entertainment.

 

 

Alameda

Learn about sharks at Crab Cove’s Family Nature Fun event at 2pm on Saturday or Sunday. No registration is required; walk-ins are welcome.

 

 

Albany

Take the kids to Bay Area Kinder Stube’s Lanternfest from 4pm-7pm on Saturday. Tickets are $15-$50, and includes a lantern parade, German cuisine and live performances.

 

 

Lafayette

Help Lafayette Library celebrate its 10th birthday from 12pm-3pm on Saturday. The fun starts with a birthday cake at 12pm and continues with Hawaiian musical performances, storytime, local food, a photo booth, crafts and a book fair.

 

 

Pleasanton

There’s a huge car show at the Alameda County Fairgrounds from 8am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will be more than 2,500+ cars, Veterans Day festivities, nitro demos, vendors, a demolition derby and kids’ attractions.
