Cheer for South Florida

Feb 22, 2022

Got an aspiring tumbler? Don’t miss these towns.

Whether your kids are already big into the cheerleading scene or are just starting to learn how to stunt, there are plenty of serious cheer towns in South Florida. From group cheer classes to one-on-one lessons to competitive programs (not to mention the nationally-ranked school teams, too), there’s no shortage of options for the cheerleader in your crew.

Weston Warriors (Weston)

The Weston Warriors cheer program has been going strong since 1995. In 2021, the Varsity Squad made it all the way to nationals!

Kids ages 5-14 can join their age-appropriate squad for practices on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. On weekends, individual teams perform at the Weston Warrior tackle football games.

Not only do the coaches help each cheerleader develop their athletic skills, but they also emphasize the principles of leadership, teamwork, trust, and loyalty.

Florida Triple Threat All Stars (Davie)

With five NCA and D2 Summit Championships to their name, the Florida Triple Threat All-Stars is a competitive program for serious cheerleaders. Cheerleaders ages 5-18 can audition for the squad (be sure to check the website for the next tryout date).

In addition to the competitive cheer team, this gym offers tumbling classes, private lessons, and summer camps. And if your kids want to bring all of their friends to the gym, book the space for their next birthday party.

Pembroke Pines Florida Superstars (Pembroke Pines)

Pembroke Pines is a nationally-ranked team led by experienced coaches. Kids 4-14 can take dance, baton twirling, or cheerleading classes. Once they are ready for the next level they can try out for the competitive team, which regularly performs at local parades, Disney World, Miami Dolphins games, and the University of Miami half-time events.

Cheer Florida All-Stars (Coconut Creek)

This award-winning Coconut Creek gym has classes and programs for kids of all skill levels. Whether they are just starting out or already familiar with the competitive cheer circuit, they’ll fit right into this welcoming and positive environment.

Tumbling and flyers classes are also offered to help them hone their skills and, on select Fridays, the gym is available for opening tumbling so the cheerleaders can just have fun without focusing on practicing a specific routine.

Coral Springs Chargers Cheerleading (Coral Springs)

Many Cheer Florida All-Stars athletes head to the next town over to compete with the Coral Springs Chargers Cheerleading squad. Kids from Coral Springs and surrounding towns can try out for this competitive team, but non-residents are required to pay an additional fee.

This cheer squad travels along with the private football team and stunts at their Saturday games from August to December. Coral Springs cheerleaders also participate in competitions throughout October, November, and December.

Parkland Rangers Cheer (Parkland)

Just like the Coral Springs Chargers, cheerleaders in Parkland can sign up and cheer at the private Parkland Rangers football games. There are six squads (and six football teams) so cheerleaders can join the team that is appropriate for their age and skill level.

These squads take the competition seriously — The Parkland Rangers Pee Wee squad recently won Nationals and is heading to Globals in late February 2022. At the same time, the program is committed to creating a fun and positive and fun environment for each cheerleader.

Boca Raton Hurricane All-Stars and Boca Raton Premier Cheer (Boca Raton)

Boca Raton cheerleaders have some great options in town. The Boca Raton Hurricane All-Stars program is led by a team of passionate coaches who all have extensive cheerleading backgrounds. The gym offers five levels of All-Stars Teams for cheerleaders as young as five. Kids can also sign up for tumbling, stunting, and dance classes at the gym.

But that’s just the beginning. The Boca Raton Premier Cheer gym is also home to a competitive team that travels to competitions around South Florida.

Kids who love to cheer can also take private lessons or additional group classes. If your little ones want to dip their toes into cheerleading, this gym offers cheerleading-inspired kids fitness classes and a non-competitive introductory cheer squad. There’s even an independent flexibility class for preschoolers.

Flip City Allstars (Boynton Beach)

The Flip City Allstars invite all interested cheerleaders, no matter their experience, to audition for their award-winning squads. These kids are serious cheerleaders — we’re talking state, national, international, Summit, and world champions here.

This gym offers competitive and non-travel cheerleading teams plus gymnastics programs. During the summer, kids ages 5-15 can also sign up for the summer camps which include tons of activities, from gymnastics to cheerleading to talent shows and more. Clinics are offered throughout the year to help young cheerleaders gain self-confidence and build their tumbling skills.

Fire Cheer All-Stars (Wellington)

New cheerleaders can sign up for Cheer Prep classes to learn the fundamentals of tumbling and stunts. No experience is required and this is a great way for them to meet some friends in their new town. And if your kids are looking for something more advanced, they can try out for the Fire Cheer All-Stars competition team. Private lessons, tumbling classes, clinics, and open-gym sessions are also available with Fire Cheer.
