Father’s Day, Suburban-Style: Here’s How Our Strategists are Celebrating

Jun 13, 2025

See how we’re spending the weekend with our families – and exploring our favorite local spots along the way.

From classic cars to coastal hikes, music brunches to tee times, our Strategists are going all in this Father’s Day. We’ve rounded up their go-to adventures and favorite local hotspots, perfect for celebrating Dad. Bonus: lots of inspiration for your own suburban celebration, and plenty of ways to get to know these sought-after communities all summer long.

WESTCHESTER

Classic Cars, Coffee + Live Jazz

“We’re going to grab brunch somewhere on Watchung Avenue, then check out the classic cars at the Cats in the Garden event at the Van Vleck House,” says NYC Strategist Eleanor Johnson. “It’s a low-key, super charming way to celebrate—and the gardens are beautiful this time of year.” And after that? “I’m treating my husband to some live music and brunch at the Jazz Club’s special Father’s Day event in Mt. Kisco. It’s his favorite kind of day—laid-back, a little indulgent, and full of great music. It’s a perfect way to spend a Sunday.”

WASHINGTON, D.C.

Planes, Pastries, and the Potomac

“Every year on Father’s Day, I take my Dad to the Air and Space Museum. He loves it so much,” says Lisa Tsoupelis, our D.C. Strategist. “We grab a mid-morning snack at Mars Café—they have amazing coffee and warm paninis—and then head down to Old Town Alexandria for ice cream at Pop’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor. After a quick rest, we finish the day at our family’s favorite restaurant, Zaytinya in downtown DC. They have amazing Mediterranean food. For us, it’s the perfect ending to a perfect day with my Dad.”

SOUTH FLORIDA

Greens + Gourmet

“This year is all about golf,” says Florida Strategist Melissa Schneider. “My husband and sons are all learning to play, so we’re heading to The Park in West Palm. It’s an amazing public course designed by Gil Hanse—the same guy who designed the Olympic course in Rio. After, we’ll grab dinner at The House, the restaurant by the course. That’s my version of a (w)hole in one!”

BOSTON SUBURBS

Fitness + Fells

“A Father’s Day lineup we love? A morning workout together, lunch, and maybe some poolside lounging at our club, then a little afternoon pickleball or a stroll along the Brook Path,” says Boston Strategist Barbara Hirsch. “We always end the day with steak tips from Fells Market on the grill. Always a hit.”

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Hikes + Harbors

“Father’s Day weekend is always special, but this year it’s extra sweet,” says Pamela Goldman, our Bay Area Strategist. “We’re kicking things off with a long family hike in Mount Tamalpais State Park, followed by lunch on the water at Sam’s Anchor Café in Tiburon. With school ending the Friday before, it’s the perfect way to celebrate Dad…and summer!”

PHILADELPHIA SUBURBS

Baseball + Ballparks

“We’ll be at my son’s baseball tournament and are hoping to go to a Phillies game if the schedule allows,” says Jodi Bloom, our Philly-area Strategist. “It’s a full-on baseball weekend—very on brand for our crew!”
