There’s lots happening in the NYC suburbs this weekend—check out our roundup and find the perfect events and activities for your crew. And while you’re there? Mix, mingle and make some friends in suburbia—people who could be your neighbors in the not-too-distant future.



The Ossining Farmers Market’s corn roast is Saturday from 8:30am-1pm. For additional fun, check out the Beverly Smith Memorial Butterfly Walk nearby in Yonkers at 10am on Saturday.


Check out this free concert in James M. Carroll Park from 7:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday. Don’t forget you’re blankets and lawn chairs.


The Westchester Children’s Museum’s Museum Minis play session for riddlers 18-24 months is at 10:30am on Thursday. Little attendees love singing, storytime and lots of play.

Rye Brook

Visit Playland Park on Friday for a laser light show, mini golf, rides, the pool and beach and a concert featuring The Amish Outlaws at 7:10pm. Admission is required.


The Bedford Playhouse is featuring “Raiders of the Lost Ark” on Sunday at 1pm and 6:30pm. Admission is $14 for adults and $12 for children.


Explore the beauty of the Katonah area during a family-friendly walk under the stars on Friday at 8pm. Meet at Pine Croft Meadow Preserve in nearby Waccabuc.


Anderson’s Larchmont is hosting a free craft time for kids from 3:30pm-5:30pm on Thursday.


Port Chester Day is Saturday from 11am-9pm at Lyon Park. Join in for live music, food trucks and family fun.


The New Rochelle farmers’ market is 9am-2pm on Friday at the Thomas Paine Cottage Museum. Explore the venue and stock up on your favorite seafood, fresh produce, coffee and other goodies.


Explore the countryside surrounding Pleasantville by taking a ride across the bridge to Nanuet for 80’s Night on Thursday at 6pm. There will be live music, a bounce house, a balloon artist and face painting.


The Family Fun & Music Fest is happening Saturday from 12:30pm-10pm. Families will enjoy a fun-filled day of live music, a petting zoo, arts, crafts, local food and more.



The Long Island Scottish Festival and Games is 8am-5pm on Saturday. Come out for storytelling, cultural performances and dancing, games, face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo and more. Admission is $20 for adults and $8 for children.

Port Washington

Watch a free movie on Port Washington’s harborfront Sunset Park at 8:30pm on Saturday. This week’s showing is “Mary Poppins Returns.”

Sea Cliff

The Sea Cliff Farmers Market is at 9am on Saturday. The market is bursting with sustainably grown, chemical-free produce, flowers, artisanal baked goods and other delicacies.


The Scottish Games festival is Saturday from 8am-5pm at Old Westbury Gardens (admission required). The next day, visit the Planting Fields Foundation for face painting, fairy garden-making and family fun. Admission is free.



Pop over to Basking Ridge for the Family Fun Fest & Car Show on Sunday from 11am-3pm, which includes live music and kids activities.

West Orange

Watch a movie under the stars at the Turtle Back Zoo on Saturday at 8pm.


The Warinanco Food Truck and Live Music Festival is from 12pm-8pm on Saturday.


Visit the Hamilton House Museum at 10am on Saturday for parent and child arts and crafts. Projects are $3 per child.

Glen Ridge

Walk the streets of Glen Ridge’s all-American downtown this weekend, then head to Bergenfield for a carnival. The carnival is open through Sunday and discount tickets can be purchased in advance.


Demarest Farms’ BBQ and the Beatles party is from 5:30pm-8:30pm on Thursday. Chow down on the best local BBQ while dancing to the music of a Beatles tribute band.


Jam out during the 80’s Dance Night in Spiotta Park on Sunday from 7pm-10pm.


The Cranford Summer Street Fair is from 11am-5pm on Sunday, and includes children’s activities, live music and free parking.



The Art in the Park Festival is Sunday from 10am-4pm. Families will love hands-on activities, live music and the free use of art supplies.


Calling all LEGO enthusiasts—use your imagination to build something incredible at a meeting of the Lego Club in Darien at 2pm on Saturday.


Watch a free concert at Binney Park from 7pm-8:30pm on Sunday.

New Canaan

Show your pooch the love they deserve during the New Canaan Land Trust’s National Dog Day celebration from 8am-12pm on Saturday. There will be family-friendly scavenger hunts, portraits and snacks.


The Hey Stamford! Food Festival is from 1pm-9pm Saturday and Sunday at Mill River Park. There will be live music from the 60s, 70s and 80s and, of course, amazing food. HarborFest2019 is also taking place from 10am-6pm on Saturday.


The St. George Annual Greek Festival is 5pm-10pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be a carnival, cultural performances and Greek food items.
