Suburban home searches are up double-digits year-over-year as more city dwellers head to suburbia.
If you’re heading from the urban to suburban, it’s important to consider the additional costs that come with life in the ‘burbs…things you mightnotbe paying for when you live in the city.
Suburban Jungle Founder & President Alison Bernstein discussed these considerations with MarketWatch.
“Water bills and garbage fees might just be wrapped up into the rent and common charges people pay in the city. Prospective buyers eyeing a particular house should ask about monthly utility costs to get a better sense of the incidental costs,” Alison explained.
Also, she says, consider whether you’ll need a car or two. “Anything can work, you just have to plan ahead and factor that into your life.”
