San Mateo
Enjoy a free country concert in Central Park from 6pm-8pm on Thursday. On Saturday, families with kids ages 5-16 to test their fitness prowess during the Subaru Kids Obstacle Challenge from 8:30am-1pm.
Pacifica
Pacifica’s 10th annual Chili & Chowder Cook-off is at 1pm on Sunday. While you’re there, enjoy live music, drink specials and complimentary desserts.
Larkspur
Larkspur Library’s Family Storytime is 10am-11am on Saturday.
San Rafael
Families can learn the basics of freshwater fishing and test their knowledge from 9am-11am on Saturday — be sure to bring your own rod. After, head to the San Rafael Art & Wine Festival for a fun-filled day of music, food trucks, art and, of course, wine tasting.
Piedmont
Encourage your kids’ creativity during Build Fridays at the Piedmont Avenue Public Library at 3:30pm on Friday.
Oakland
The Laurel Street Fair World Music Festival is 11am-7pm on Saturday. The festivities include a carnival, petting zoo, food court, DJs, art vendors and more.
Alameda
Embrace STEM as a family during the Alameda Mini Maker Faire from 10am-4pm on Sunday. Admission is $7 at the door.
Albany
Help clean up Albany Beach and participate in a free public sand globe workshop from 1pm-3pm on Sunday.
Lafayette
Spend the weekend exploring Briones Regional Park, a 6,225-acre reservation ideal for flying kites, picnicking and hiking.

The Thursday Night Food Truck Feast arrives at the Orinda Community Center from 5pm-8pm on Thursday.

Every Wednesday, May through September, downtown Walnut Creek is transformed into a food truck festival with a kids zone, games and prizes.
