Top 5 Reasons I Love Living in the Philadelphia Suburbs

Sep 25, 2023

Jodi Bloom grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, but spent her post-college years living and working in Manhattan. While she loved NYC, when it was time to find her family’s new hometown she was drawn back to Philadelphia – and now she’s Suburban Jungle’s head strategist, helping countless families explore the diverse towns and communities in the greater Philadelphia area.

Considering the Philadelphia suburbs – or exploring your options from coast to coast? Here’s what Jodi wants you to know.

#1. The restaurant scene is ⭐⭐⭐⭐

“The food in the Philly suburbs is top notch and I can get cuisines from around the world, including hotspots like Lark in Bala Cynwyd and Autana in Ardmore and Estia in Radnor”

#2. It’s a shopping epicenter

“There are a ton of great stores in the suburbs. I love Skirt in Bryn Mawr, Tish Boutique in West Chester, Rowen in Ardmore and Posh Collections in Malvern. There is also the King of Prussia Mall – there’s really nothing like it.”

#3. We’re close to so many amazing destinations

“It’s a quick ride into NYC, an easy weekend trip to DC – and if you’re looking to get away, we’re close to the Poconos for skiing in the winter and lake life in the summer. And, of course, there’s the Jersey Shore.”

#4. It’s a friendly community

“People here are very welcoming. Expect to make fast friends post-move!”

#5. Endless activities

“We’re never bored. Explore the Philadelphia ‘burbs and you’ll find tons of walkable towns packed with personality, state parks with endless hiking and biking trails, beautiful gardens, museums, farmers markets, kids’ activities… the list goes on!”
