As COVID-19 shuts down New York City, more and more families are heading to suburbia.
Suburban Jungle clients Stephanie and Paul Ellis hadn’t planned to leave their Bleecker Street apartment just yet. But when COVID-19 started shutting down the city, they headed the suburban New Jersey…and might not be coming back.
“As the time passes by, we’ve come to the realization that I don’t think we should go back, and we love New York,” Stephanie recently told ABC7.
The Ellises aren’t alone either. Suburban Jungle Founder & President Alison Bernstein told ABC7 that the “mass exodus” from the city isn’t slowing down. Not only are NYC families heading to nearby suburbs but, Alison says, they’re considering communities in other parts of the country, including South Florida and Austin, Texas.
